From simple proof of concept prototypes to production level prototypes,
we will build the prototype you want.
Proof of Concept Prototype
A proof of concept prototype is usually done to verify the
design functions the way it was intended to. It allows you to show others
how your product will work. Usually a proof of concept prototype is less
expensive to build than a production level prototype. A PCB may not be
required if only a few components are need. A hand made breadboard can be
built instead. An existing stock enclosure may be purchased and modified to
save on packaging costs. Though this type of prototype may not look as
"nice" as a production level prototype, normally it will perform just
as well as the production level units.
Production Level Prototype
In addition to the design verification the proof of concept
prototype provides, a production level prototype (sometimes called a first
article) also verifies the manufacturing and part procurement aspects of
developing a product. A PCB will always be used in a production level
prototype. The actual product housing will be used. The final prototype
will look like the final manufactured product. Due to the low quantity of
prototypes being produced, some of the process that will be automated in final
manufacturing may be performed manually.
